Frustration,frustration, frustration

So, I am the QUEEN of procrastination. If I can put it off until tomorrow, I will, and do. Last month a made a note in my date book to send a card off for my nephew's birthday on the 21st. 2 weeks before, I thought, "ok Angie, don't forget to make a card" "ok I will tomorrow" well 14 tomorrows came and went, and I still hadn't made a card :( So Yesturday, I sat down to finally make a card. Well, as we all know, I'm not a card maker. I had the thought of making a hockey dude, but soon realized that I only have the Paper Doll dress up cart, not the Everyday Dress up. So there went that idea. Now what.

I didn't want to make the card to babyish, he turned 9. But I didnt want it too "manly" either, cuz he is still a kid. So after 5 attempts I finally have one made.

Here's one of the 5 attempts:

I loved the colors on the paper. Its from CTMH and I thought they were perfect boy colors...so I went off of that. Then I added the chipboard shapes, but since they don't ink well, I thought, I'll cover them with paper....well have you ever tried to cover a swirl with paper then cut off the excess. Man, its tough. So then I looked at it, and it looked just messy. But I continued. I stamped the rocketship and colored it in. I don't have any sentiments stamps, so I just wrote "Hope you had a blast" After finishing it, I hated it!!! So I give up. Tomorrow is another day...
So ta da!! Here is what I'm sending. I had cut out a giraffe and had this whole "hope you partied like an animal" thought going, but after I cut out the giraffe, I just didn't like him. The owl was something I stamped for one of yesturdays tries, and I thought he was pretty cute. I used the CTMH heart cartridge to cut the card at 5.5 inches and the same cart to cut the flower shape, 1 at 3 in 1 at 2 in. I added a pearl sticky thing from CTMH as well. The ribbon is just extra stuff I had. I did stamp one the inside "Follow your dreams..." and "Believe in WHOOO you are." plus a little hand written note;)

I was sooo frustrated making this card, and its not anything near fantastic, but I'm proud of it. I think it looks pretty good.

And just a little plug for another blog...justyolie is having a link up for pink starting Oct 1st. Head over there for some added inspiration and for a good cause:)

Blah weekend had a Good ending...

This weekend, while the weather was wonderful, was pretty blah!! Saturday the girls had a birthday party and Daylon had a friend over til 5. Once the girls got home from the party, DH went to football. By time he got home it was 7:30. So we ordered pizza for supper. By 8:30 we finished eating, and just put on a movie. We were in bed by midnight, maybe even 11. How sad. But Sunday turned around when a friend came over and we scraped for 7 hours!!! I got 4 LO's done (more on those in a bit)

I've had a few questions swirling around in my brain lately. 1st one...Why is it soooo hard to find a blog that posts mostly layouts? I follow tons that share cards, which, dont get me wrong, are awesome, but only like 4 share LO's. Ah well, I love em all. 2nd question Holy smokes, am I in over my head or what? I follow so many blogs, and I want to join challanges, but which ones? There's so many. And is my stuff good enough? And design teams, oy, I won't even go there lol.

So this weekend, in between my boredness and my scraping, I did a Disney Blog Hop. http://craftychicsblog.blogspot.com/ was the host of this wonderful blog hop. Since I am sooooo far behind on all 3 of my Disney albums, I thought this hop was perfect to get my Disney mojo flowing. At the end of the post they mentioned having a Disney Link up party!! Click HERE to check it out, and add a Disney page or 2. I'm going to :)

Now I know the last one doesn't look Disney, but it is of Payton at Animal Kingdom waiting to enter the Bug's life ride. Well folks, that was my weekend, and now I'm off to feed the munchkins some lunch and then to clean my Scrap room. Its a scraping nightmare :)

Happy Scraping

Whew, thats alot work!! I also wanna send a big Thank you to Kimmie. I won some awesome stamps from some of her blog candy last week, and I just got them in the mail, and while I haven't used them yet, they are super cute :)

Alright, on to the topic of my lost mojo...did it return? Short answer NO. I did got to a wonderful crop last friday, and did get 3 LO done, but as much as Kim tried to bring out my mojo, they are not my best work :( I even had a friend come over Sunday so our DH's could watch Football, and even then, I got 4 LO's done and still not happy with them :(That same friend is coming over this sunday, so lets hope I can get something decent finished. I'm also super annoyed that I cant find the right canvas I was looking for, for the daycare parents gifts. Ah well, I'll keep searching. Here are some of the LO's I did over last weekend:

So,  Here is my plan going forward, I'm going to learn this whole blog thing and try join some challanges and maybe one day join a DT. Its going to take some work, but thats my plan...i hope:) Happy Scrapping.

Lost the Mojo...

Has that ever happend to you? Last week and the week before, I was on such a roll. I think in those 2 weeks I finished 10 LO's and started 4 cards. I reorganized my room. Things were going great. Til this week. I dont even have the urge to go into my room. I keep looking at all the blogs I followe, hoping that I can get some inspiration, and nada. Nothing. I hope my mojo returns soon, I'm supposed to go to a crop on friday with my MIL.

I don't know many people that scrapbook, or craft in general. My SIL does, but she lives in Ottawa, and my MIL does, but I moved areas and am now atleast 30 mins away. So finding someone to scrap with has also been tough. My SIL and MIL both has other hobbies too, so they split there time between them. This is my only hobby, so finding a scrap buddy or even crops has been a challange. I think this has had some to do with my lost mojo. I'm also panicing about Christmas. This is the first Christmas I have no idea what to get for my kidlets, and thats stressing.  I just need to take a deep breath, and have a glass of wine ;)

And, to top things off my lost mojo week, I have given up on the 30 day photo challange. I love to take pictures, but I was having a hard time following the list and was just getting lazy about it. Ah well, it was worth a shot right.

So tonight I will start packing my stuff for Friday night, lets hope it gets the mojo flowing and I can get some LO's done!! Wish me luck folks :) Its the DH birthday on saturday and I'm taking him to the Pearl Jam concert, his favorite band of all time, so if I get to scraping at my crop, I wont be able to post them intil sunday. Have a great rest of the week!! Happy scrapping

A day of new Beginnings...

Phew, I'm exhausted!! But lets start at the beginning...10 yrs ago today, our entire world changed. Even as a Canadian, the events that unfold effected me completely. I stayed glued to the TV for days, weeks. Shocked and confused and sad about what I was seeing. How could this be happening? Why was this happening? I'll will never forget that day. Ever! It is still so vivid in my mind....so 3 weeks ago when my stepbrother called me, and said "Don't plan on anything on Sept 11, cuz me and Kathleen are getting married" I thought to myself "really? Thats the day you want to get married" Even today as I was getting ready, I thought "who would want to get married on such a sad day" Then i realized, life goes on. And what better way to prove to the world, that we can go on. We will go on. We will not let the sadness take over our lives. We will live for the people who lost their lives. We will celebrate the life that soilders are now fighting to keep safe! The neighbours to the North support you :)
BUT, now after spending the day at a wedding, outdoors, in the heat and sun, I'm exhausted!! Not to mention the shoes that, well, were very high. My feet are killing me :) Fashion before function right? So here is the DH and me just after the I do's.

I was going to post my 30 challange pics, but I'm tired and going to bed, so it will just have to wait til tomorrow :)

Happy scrapping

Its beginning to Look alot like Christmas?

First Day of school!!!! "What" you ask. "On a friday?" Yup, while almost everyone I know has kidlets finishing their first week, my babes just started. Sad day for me. I Hate back to school :(

So yesturday, I challanged myself to start working on Christmas projects now, and not leave them til the last possible minute. I also challanged myself to make some cards since I don't normally hand them out. And after 3 hours in my craft room last night I came to find some intresting things...

1. A bone folder/scoring tool are a must. I have neither :( made for a very frustrating evening. If I continue down this path I will NEED to invest in one or both of these tools. Probably both.
2. Measuring and cutting the paper to size is a bit of a pain. There has to be an easier way. Please someone tell me there's an easier way!!
3. If I go down this path....I will need more stamps. Stamps of all sorts, not just CTMH which is what I have. I need more sentiments. I need more holidays....I just need more stamps.
and 4. My cards, much like my LO's are very plan and simple. Even kinda boring.
So here is my first shot. Every product is CTMH, excpet the stickles at the top. I DO NOT like this card. At all. I think the only stuff worth saving is the tree and the white frame its on. I heat embossed the white using pearl silver, but for some reason it kinda came out pink. I'm probably going to take this one apart and try again.

Then I made these 2. I like these ALOT better, but they're just kinda missing something. I used glitter ritz on both of these. and the flowers on the second is cut at 4' and the bottom layer is lined in red stickles. The mistletoe in the 3rd is cut at 3' and used itty bitty buttons as the berries. I have started another, I hopefully I can finish it tonight and maybe post it tomorrow.

I'll be out this weekend to find a shadow frame for the daycare parents gifts..so hopefully I can get those started soon too.

Have a good friday folks and Happy Scrapping :)

Just a Blab Post

Today is just going to be me blabbing...lol. I have so many ideas. I'm not a big Halloween person. Sure the kids dress up, and we go trick or treating...but as for decorations and such, not to much. So today, at my DD's meet the Teacher, I signed up to bring the treats for the Christmas party...and thats where it started. I have Christmas on the brain. Previous years, 2 weeks before Christmas, I panic, I have no wrapping paper, no teacher gift, no baking done. Its just mass confusion and scrambling. Not a pretty site. Well this year, I'm going to be ahead of the game!!! Here's my plan (this way, you guys can keep me focused and on point :))

So this year I'm going to make some cards. I don't make cards...at all. Everyone I know just tosses them right away anyway so whats the point right? Well this year I'm going to make some. I'm just not going to give them to the  "Tosser outers" So far I have 1 teacher, and 2 neighbours. If the list expands, well then great!!
Also on my list of "to do's" I'm going to frame a LO of each of my daycare kids to give to their parents...hmmm, i guess they should get cards too huh? Ok so add 5 more cards to above list.

I only have 1 kid in elementry school this year, so I only have 1 teachers gift to make...but I'm keeping that one a surprise til a bit closer to Xmas ;)

I have 2 idea's for the class treats, since that's where all this started...rice crispy treat trees, which is both easy and fun for kids...or reindeer cupcakes...which is fun, but not as easy to transport. I'll let you know what I go with.

The daycare kids and I are going to make popcorn wreaths..if I don't eat all the popcorn.

Whew, I think I'm going to be busy...but to stay ahead of the game, I'm going to start the cards tonight!! Wish me luck folks.

HELP!!!

On a side note, if someone could tell me why I can't comment on some blogs that would be awesome. If it has a drop down list of how I want to post, I can't. I'm so frustrated with this!! Someone please help.

With the Long Weekend, comes a Long Winded Post :)....

It was a busy long week at this house. While nothing really happend, I was busy scrapping ;) I entered my first challange over at http://papercraftweekendchallenge.blogspot.com/ about using glitter. I love glitter and bling, so that was right up my alley. I also won an awesome Joe Joe the werewolf stamp from
http://athousandsheetsofpaper.blogspot.com/. Can't wait to get that in the mail!!! Hmmm, I need to figure out how to put the links in without using the full "blogspot.com" thing. Can any one help with that?

Anyways, on to my scrapping. I was able to finish 8 LO's this weekend. Thats huge for me! I love my scraproom, but the tv I had in there died awhile ago (it came with the house, and it was old), and it was always so quiet in there, that I would just get bored. So...heehee, this weekend I stole the TV that was in my DD's room. She's 8, she doesn't need a TV in her room. Plus, it was mine anyway :) So with the background noise of Crimnal Minds, I was able to get lots done. Strange I know, most people say they can't have the TV on when they craft, but me, I can't not have something on.
So this was the last page I finished up last night. I LOVE how this turned out. I believe most of the paper is CTMH. I used scraps, so its kinda hard to remember. I cut the COFFEE out using the Mickey Mouse font, and weilded the letters together with my gypsy. And I stamped the WILL  STUNT MY GROWTH using chocolate brown from CTMH. The coffee cup it cut at  4" and its from Wall Decor and More.
I had a picture I wanted to use of the first Timmes coffee that I had to buy my DD who was 3 at the time (I know I know, how bad is that, but honestly, it was more milk then coffee), it just didnt go with My layout, so I added a picture flap from CTMH with the picture of her stirring her coffee, and added the journaling to the back. and hid the picture underneath. Worked out like a charm :)
This one is my 2 page LO of last Halloween. Yup, I'm that far behind. Using the gypsy I made the people at 4' execpt the ladybug I mad at 3'. I cut them using the Paper Doll Dress-up. They didnt have a ZOMBIE guy, so I just cut the head out in white and used black ink to ink around the eyes abit. I used purple cardstock from CTMH to print out the title using the GYPSY font and just inked around it using black.

Below is just one i quickly through together so that I could say it was done :) I dont know if you noticed, but all LO's had some glittery goodness on it. I used my FAVORITE glitter of all time. GLITTER RITZ. Love that stuff. I did use red stickles on the red ladybug girl though, as well as some silver on for the spots on the wings :) The cupcake below was cut at 4' and its from the Gypsy WANDERINGS. (came preloaded on the machine)

Day 5 Someone I love

And lastly, the last pic was from the Photo a day for 30 Days challange. It was someone you love. Since I forgot this on til 10 pm, I took it of my son. I had intended to take it of ALL my kids, but since I forgot, and the girls were in bed, it was just Daylon. whew, done!! Good thing I didn't post ALL the LO's I did. I'd be here forever!! So, now off I go. Making lunch for the kidlets, and hopefully get some scrapping during naptime. Happy scrapping :)

Grab a Coffee, This is Gonna be a Long One....

'Happy long Weekend folks. Its already sunday :( Why do the weekends go by so fast? We didnt do much this weekend. The DH works today and tomorrow, so that limited us. Saturday the DS had a birthday party from 1to 6 on the other side of the city, so we went to Walmart and got the DD a bag and runners for school. I love her school supply list...so easy. I had the get the youngest DD new runners too, she wanted a backpack for when she starts school (next year) so I convinced her shoes would be better. Last night I scraped while the DH watched football.

So, on to my picture of the day challange i posted about earlier. Here they are:
                                                            day 1
                                         day2 what I wore
day 3 clouds (that finally appeared cuz it rained all day)
Day 4. favorite color PINK

So far I'm following right on track. Its hard to rememeber to take a picture everyday, but so far so good :)      And now on to my LO's that I've done. Like I mentioned before, I'm doing more then one book. I'm trying hard to finish the book for my dad, but sometimes I just tire of doing it. I always have to catch up on my everyday book.

The 2 page "Gathering Place" lo in one for my every day book. I scrap in order, so as you can tell, I'm about a year behind in that book. Normally I'm not that far, but our Disney trip in January and our Jamaica trip in May, really put me back. The first 2 LO's are for my dad's book. I'm struggling with that book, because i want to make sure that I document all the important parts of his life, but I dont want to put in a million pages. Ah the struggle.

And just an fyi, all the paper and stamps are CTMH. The owl was cut using the gypsy and its from Cindy Loo and the butterfly and the tree are cut from Wall Decor and More.

Phew, I think thats it for the day folks. Happy scraping and a good rest of your long weekend :)

Wanna try...?

just saw this on a friends blog. I'm gonna try play along. Take a picture a day for a month following the theme posted below. I'll post every couple of days with my pics :)

are you gonna try

It Arrived!!!!!

Wow, September 1st!!! Where did the summer go. Why does it always seem to go faster and faster the older I get. My kids start school next friday, and I think I'm one of the few moms I know that isn't look forward to it. I love the crazyness and relaxed feel of summer holidays. Sleeping in late, having breakfast at noon. My oldest DD is very excited to start grade 3, and acually cried at the end of last school year. She's my little social butterfly. My DS's are both dreading the new school year. More the 12 yr old then the 18 yr old. He's more like me on the shy and reserved side, and is a little scared. But I know once the year starts, he'll be fine.
Now the exciting part....My gypsy arrived yesturday!!!! Oh the joy, when i went to the mail box and saw it there. I had to figure it out right away, and I have to say, it wasn't easy. After 5 hours, I finally got it charged, and the new updates downloaded. I added the cartridges, and linked it up to my cricut. Phew what a process! Then, once that what was all done, I got to explore all the options!!! I love that I can make a layered diecut with just one mat insert. Before, I had to take out the mat, and cut every layer separately. It was such a hassle. Then I learned how to weld images together. That was cool to, so now my titles all look connected. I still have lots to learn to get the most out of this gagdet, but so far its been great!! (but thank goodness for youtube, when I get stuck, its my goto for instructions)

So the 2 LO's I'm posting both have some sort of gypsy/cricut cut on it. I'm a minimslist when it comes to scraping, but I am working to add more, and possibly add some layer dimensions.....one day :) These are pages I'm doing for my dad's birthday book. The frame and words from the Wedded Bliss were cut using the Wall Decor and More cart. I just love this cart. I love the romantic feel everything has on it. All the paper and stamps/ink on both LO's are CTMH products. And the flowers are from Michaels. I have an small obsession with flowers and bling, so most of my LO's have one or the other, or heehee, both.
Well, thats it for now. I have another LO that I'm working on, and hopefully will have that finished today. I'm really excited about this one :)

 Happy Scraping

ps. a fellow blogger posted about leaving comments on other blogs to send your love :) I took the changle and left comments on all the blogs I read today.
